Welcome to the Elimination Diet Support Blog

An elimination diet can be very tough. It's nice to have support. I know; I really couldn't have survived this diet without the support I received from fellow or former eliminators. So I created this blog to help you with your own elimination diet. You can also comment on this blog if you have tips or tricks to share. So come on in and join the conversation...

I want to say right up front I am not a doctor nor could I have done this with out a doctor's help. I sincerely recommend you identify a medical/nutritional professional who is familiar with the elimination diet to guide you through this process. The health information contained in this blog is not intended as medical advice and should not be considered a substitute for appropriate medical care. Sugar, you delicious beast

For some of us sugar can be the hardest thing to eliminate. I have found the trick to sugar is not letting yourself have any. Once I have a taste of it, I crave it for a week. While I am no longer "eliminating" so to speak, I have continued to keep sugar out of my diet most of the time. Some days or weeks I'll fall off the wagon, but for the most part I try to live sugar-free. My advise for the eliminators is to avoid the alternative sweeteners too. I know that sounds cruel, but I think agave and stevia will just prolong the agony. Stick to fruits and if you really need something sweet grab a banana or a clementine.
